We are referring to American or International Ballroom style Tango in
this description, not Argentine. Dramatic, sensual, fiery, Tango is a huge favorite among advanced dancers, although it is more of an exhibition dance than a social one. Tango use belly or diaphragm contact and full body leads; definitely not a dance for the shy. There are two distinct styles of Tango, American and Argentine. They are very unique and quite distinctive. Hardly any similarity exists between them anymore even though Ballroom Tango originated from the original Argentine version. |
